Membership at Christ Community Church
Adults interested in membership begin the process by attending our C3-101 class. This 4-week class is taught year-round on Sunday mornings at 11:00 am. Class leaders will walk you through the requirements for membership and the process of becoming a member, helping you schedule an interview with one of our elders. Visit the C3-101 page to learn more about the class and upcoming class dates.
Students (Middle School and High School) interested in membership will participate in a single-session membership intensive class and elder interview, offered periodically throughout the year. Contact Pastor Charles Johnson (by phone at 615-468-2225 or by e-mail) to learn more.
Children in Elementary School ready to become communing members of the church will meet with one of our pastors for a preliminary interview. Communing members are those who have made a profession of faith in Christ, have been baptized, and have been admitted by the Session to the Lord’s Table. Contact Becky Clark (by phone at 615-468-2241 or by e-mail) to learn more.
Baptism is a sacrament of the New Testament, ordained by Jesus Christ, not only for the solemn admission of the party baptized into the visible Church; but also to be unto him a sign and seal of the covenant of grace, of his ingrafting into Christ, of regeneration, of remission of sins, and of his giving up unto God, through Jesus Christ, to walk in the newness of life. This sacrament is, by Christ’s own appointment, to be continued in His Church until the end of the world. (Westminster Confession of Faith, 28.1). To learn more about our beliefs on baptism watch or listen to Pastor Cassidy’s sermon, Something in the Water.
Infants and Children: Members of our church who wish to present their child or children for baptism may contact the Pastor’s Office (by phone at 615-468-2200 or by e-mail) to begin the process. Baptisms are typically administered on the second Sunday of the month throughout the year.
Adults: Adults who have never been baptized will need to become church members and may be baptized on the same day that membership vows are taken before the congregation. Begin the process by attending our C3-101 class and mention your desire to be baptized to one of the class leaders and to an elder during your membership interview. To learn more, contact the Pastor’s Office (by phone at 615-468-2200 or by e-mail) to schedule an appointment with one of our pastors.
