One of the most active groups in our community, Senior Adult Ministry (SAM) focuses on individuals and couples 60+ in age (and those who love them!), providing social interaction, service, support, and spiritual growth. SAM hosts incredible speakers at their regular monthly luncheons, offers fun fellowship outings to the theater, sporting events, and other local attractions throughout the year, and regularly takes the lead on volunteer opportunities in our church and community.
O God, from my youth you have taught me, and I still proclaim your wondrous deeds.
So even to old age and gray hairs, O God, do not forsake me,
until I proclaim your might to another generation, your power to all those to come.
– Psalm 71:17-18
Regular Event Details
SAM Sunday classes meet at 11:00 am on the second level of the C-Wing. Each Sunday morning, join us after the worship service in any of the three SAM classes meeting in the board room, the library, or the parlor – led by pastor Mike Smith and Elder David White.
*Church-wide classes for adults, students, and children are offered year-round, except on holiday weekends, special occasions, and during our summer break during the month of July. Check our events calendar to see dates when we do not have 11:00 am classes.
SAM hosts potluck luncheons throughout the year on the third Thursday of the month, held in the Event Center from 12:00 – 2:00 pm. Featuring wonderful speakers, each luncheon offers a unique topic and learning opportunity, sharing food and fellowship.
Some months, SAM organizes a movie day or a group outing in lieu of the traditional potluck luncheon. Check our events calendar to find out about upcoming events or look for the SAM table in the Crossover any Sunday morning to meet members of this community and learn more!
