C3 Forum: Photography, Race, and Gender
Presented by Dr. Elissa Yukiko Weichbrodt, Covenant College Professor of Art
Free Event; Open to the Public; Free Childcare Available with Registration
6:30 – 7:45 p.m.
How do images either hurt or help us when it comes to loving our neighbors? Focusing on a single image from the Civil Rights Movement, Dr. Elissa Yukiko Weichbrodt challenges us to explore how photographs quietly shape our expectations of race and gender in ways that might keep us from recognizing the fullness of the image of God in others. How then can we expand our visual archives to see and love more like our Father? Join us for an evening designed to spark thought and conversation.
